Leaning Tower of Beeza

Location: Colchester

Hive Type: Langstroth Nuc

Queen: Beryl

Established: 2026

Leaning Tower of Beeza was established in 2026 as the first royal offshoot of Buzzingham Palace, created through a carefully managed split to carry forward the strong bloodline of the much-admired Queen Beryl. Now residing in a compact nuc hive, this young colony may be smaller in size, but it is rich in promise and potential.

Though modest in its current quarters, the Leaning Tower of Beeza is already showing all the hallmarks of noble stock: calm temperament, purposeful workers, and the steady early signs of a thriving future. With Queen Beryl at the helm, this new outpost carries the same dependable character that made its parent colony so admired.

Set amongst open farmland and wide countryside, the hive enjoys an abundance of natural forage from hedgerows, wildflowers, flowering crops, and seasonal blossoms. This rich rural setting provides excellent conditions for comb building, brood rearing, and the gathering of fine nectar throughout the season.

As with all our colonies, management is thoughtful and light-touch, allowing the bees to develop at their own pace while receiving the care they need to prosper. In time, this small nuc is expected to grow into a strong and productive hive in its own right.

The Leaning Tower of Beeza stands as a symbol of new beginnings a fresh chapter built on strong foundations, countryside abundance, and a queen whose legacy continues to grow.
